Global Family for Love and Peace

Global Family for Love and Peace
"With the advent of globalization we need to promote world peace for the sake of the wellbeing of humanity and the whole planet. But peace is not something which can be brought about by one individual. The seeds of peace are sown through religion and dialogue, and sustained through education. We need to appeal to the followers of all religions to come together and realize the ideal of a “global family for love and peace.”—Chan Master Hsin Tao said.

During the planning for MWR, Chan Master Hsin Tao believed it was through constant interaction, listening, conversation and cooperation that we could achieve mutual understanding, mutual learning, and mutual trust among religions. Therefore, Chan Master Hsin Tao traveled around the world in years, actively participated in and advocated for cross-religion interaction and conversion, including events at Cape Town in 1999, Barcelona in 2004, Melbourne in 2009, and Salt Lake City in 2016. He was invited to speak at CPWR forums four years in a roll, and was invited to UN’s religious leaders summit in 2000.

Prior to MWR’s opening in 2001, 9/11 attack shocked the world. Therefore, Chan Master Hsin Tao actively initiate Muslim-Buddhist dialogues, a series of talks started at Columbia University in 2002 and continued to take place in different locations annually, in the hope that the kindness power of religions can promote peace among religions. The talks have reached 14 countries and cities, including New York, Indonesia, Malaysia, Paris, Iran, Spain, Beijing, Taipei, UN headquarter, Australia, India and Salt Lake City. Other cross-religion talks are also in development, such as the sixth talks with Catholics on November 13-16, 2017.
