 Established in 2003, the Pu-ren Character Award is named after one of Master Hsin Tao’s Dharma names. Master Hsin Tao was orphaned at a young age and grew up in very difficult circumstances, and established the Pu-ren Character Award as an expression of his gratitude for the guidance he has received from the teachings of the Buddha. The scholarship is intended to assist impoverished students of good character, and encourage all members of society to cultivate their hearts and minds.
