Origination

I was born in Burma (now Myanmar) to Chinese parents from Yunnan, China.
In the chaos of war, my father was killed and I became completely separated from my family.
Even though I was only four years old at the time, I learned to look after myself.
So at a tender young age I experienced the suffering and horror of war.
This led me to dedicate my life to the relief of suffering.
Thus I pray
that all the orphans in the world, all those who are helpless,
will be lovingly taken care of by society.

The Burma NGO Project

War creates poverty and orphans, resulting in a vicious cycle which is very difficult to break. Only by sowing the seeds of peace, promoting educational reform, and integrating spiritual cultivation and practical social service will it be possible to have long-term peace in the world.

In order to assist the many orphans and poor children of Burma, Ling Jiou Mountain’s GFLP has established the Dayu Nursery, Education and Support Program for Disadvantaged Children, and the Sagha Overseas Study Program. The GFLP has also started the Nongman Farm which uses sustainable agricultural practices to provide impoverished farmers with increased employment opportunities, and has also helped the Children’s Education Project to attain economic self sufficiency.

The Global Family for Peace and Love

In 2002 Master Hsin Tao founded the Global Family for Peace and Love (GFLP), an international nonprofit organization which promotes interreligious cooperation, participates in the preservation of sacred sites, and engages in international disaster relief efforts. Based on the ideas of respect, tolerance, and loving kindness, the GFLP promotes environmental protection, and the harmonious coexistence of all living beings to create a “Global Family for Peace and Love.”
