LJM is located in TaibeiCounty’s GongliaoTownship, an area populated mainly by senior citizens. Aware that many elderly residents in the area live alone, LJM set up an assistance program in 1993, which has since expanded to ShuangxiTownship and Taibei’s Wanhua
District. Services provided include home visits; health checks; resource referrals; emergency assistance; house cleaning; hair care; free articles for daily use; counseling; and social activities. In addition, every year, just before the lunar new year holiday, LJM holds an event for honoring elders. |
