Long term fasting and retreat
Gradually attracts a following and begins teaching monastics and laypeople at Jiguang Monastery, but realizes that while teaching he won’t be able to finally overcome all tribulation, and that highly refined states of concentration are not the same as final liberation. In 1982 meets Thrangu Rinpoche, master of the Karma Kagyu school of Tibetan Buddhism, and determines to take a long-term fast and retreat. |
