Official opening of the MWR
Muslim World League donates a number of precious items to the MWR—the first time it has made such a donation to a non-Muslim organization. Invited to attend the Millennium World Peace Summit of Religious and Spiritual Leaders convened by the United Nations as a member of the consultative committee. In May recognized in as an incarnate teacher of the Nyingma Kathok tradition of Tibetan Buddhism by His Holiness Mozha and given the title Chökyi Dorje. In August begins European tour to help heal the wounds of conflict, with Bohemia as the first stop. In November the MWR officially opens, the culmination of more than a decade of continual efforts. Establishes the Sacred Sites Preservation Commission. |
