Year-long retreat
Begins one-year retreat in February, 22 years after founding the monastery. One month later, interrupts his retreat to go to Myanmar to receive the “Outstanding Contribution to the Propagation of Buddhism Award.”  Continues his retreat in Myanmar and obtains miyan (a kind of nutritious mineral from the Himalayas). Returns to Ling Jiou Mountain at the end of April and continues his fast until the following February. |
